Woman challenges Atanga Nji in Kumba

An aggrieved victim of Kumba massacre interrupted Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji as he addressed some victims, officials and the general public in Kumba on Tuesday.

Reports say the lady was taken out of the venue by security officers as she objected to the minister’s assertion that Cameroon’s leaders are God-ordained.

Atanga goes on to justify that government alone has “monopoly over violence”.

This is, however, a wrong judgement according to political scientists, who have advanced that it is a state that has the monopoly of violence and not the government.
