THE AFCON 2022 DRAW CEREMONY AND FIXTURES

The AFCON draws took place yesterday, August 17th, 2021 at the Yaounde Conference Center. The star-studded event was graced by electrifying performances by Cameroonian artist Salatiel and kid dancer Maxime La Vitesse.

A host of dignitaries attended the draw, including Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe, Cameroon legend Roger Milla and icons such as Didier Drogba, El Hadji Diouf and Samuel Eto’o.

Africa Cup of Nations draw:

Group A: Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cape Verde

Group B: Senegal, Zimbabwe, Guinea, Malawi

Group C: Morocco, Ghana, Comoros, Gabon

Group D: Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea-Bissau

Group E: Algeria, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast

Group F: Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania, Gambia

The tournament is scheduled for 09 January 2022 until 06 February 2022.

The opening match will be played on Sunday 09 January 2022 at the newly-built Olembe Stadium in Yaoundé at 17h00 local time (16h00 GMT).

Five cities (Douala, Yaoundé, Bafoussam, Garoua and Limbe) will host the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

A total of 52 matches will be played.
