Kumba Massacre : Teachers of Mother Francisca International Bilingual college maintain suspicious silence

Over 72 hours after the killing of students at Mother Francisca Bilingual International College in Kumba, the version of teachers of the school remains unknown.

The proprietress of the school is under police custody since Saturday, October 24th 2020 when the killings took place. The whereabouts of other staff at the school remain unknown. A source at the SDO’s office confirmed to Mimi Mefo Info that five other teachers of the school are equally in detention.

Other telephone numbers of teachers who witnessed the shooting have remained permanently switched off.

What explains the necessity of arresting teachers who are traumatised after narrowly escaping the killings? The question has divided inhabitants of Kumba.” let the administration allow the teachers to tell the world as matured people what they saw that day. This will point to the real identity of those who organised and executed the shooting ” A neighbour to the crime scene explains in anonymity.

Those who advocate for an independent version of teachers of the school think the massacre has been hastily attributed to separatist fighters without proper investigation. An accusation has separatists have refuted neither have they claim responsibility of the killings.

At the moment, what teachers witness remain a secret with no official release made public by the school given that keys school officials are in police custody.

To a form five student who narrowly escaped the killing “… the killers were wearing military and police uniforms. Others have bulletproof. They did not speak but started shooting immediate they arrived.”

Observers say in a war situation, putting a military uniform or bulletproof does not qualify one as a military and causing atrocities with plainclothes cannot be attributed to separatists without proper investigation.
