The Minister of Urban Development and Housing, COURTES née KEUTCHA Célestine has thanked the Head of State Paul Biya for taking care of her hospital bills and that of other young BIR soldiers following an accident which happened in the Far Noth region today The Minister along with his colleagues were involved in a serious accident along the Mora Waza stretch of road today September 5th 2020 in their convoy. No life was lost during the accident but at least 13 people including the Minister were taken to the hospital after the car crash which was likely caused by over speeding. The Minister’s tweet has however generated criticism from some Cameroonians on the social media. Many have criticised the Minister for making a political show out of an accident, saying thanking Biya and ignoring doctors and first responders who treated her was an unnecessary political stunt. They decry the worshiping mentality that many government officials have with respect to the President of the Republic, decrying the fact that every happening in the country is not supposed to be associated to the Head of State in republican terms.
