Vision 4 boss apologises to Cameroonians, police boss

Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga has issued an apology for his utterances made in the past few weeks.

Speaking during the 8PM newscast of his TV station, Vision 4, the business magnate asked for an apology from Cameroonians, members of the Fang Beti community as well as the delegate general for national security, Martin Mbarga Nguelle.

Jean Pierre Amougou Belinga is reported to have accused Martin Mbarga Nguelle and his ethnic group of being “lazy”.

In an apology, he described his derogatory remarks on top state officials as a “moment of weakness that can happen to anyone”.

He further explained that he was wrong to have made the said utterances.

“This is why to each and everyone of you, my brothers and sisters of the great Fang-Beti community, to his excellence the president of the Republic … To all the patriarchs particularly to my father, Martin Mbarga Nguelle … I humbly present my sincere apologies” he stated.

Belinga’s apology comes days after his Vision 4 TV returned on air, following a structural readjustment.

The TV has often been described as a tool for state propaganda, and hate speech for regime apologists.
