Ngaoundere population sends motion of thanks to Biya for social houses

By DOH JAMES SONKEY The population of Ngaoundere, headquarter of the Adamawa region, has sent a motion of thanks to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, for the construction of low cost social houses for them. The motion of thanks was handed to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Celestine Ketcha Courtes, during her maiden working visit to this region, last August 16, 2020. The visit enabled the Housing and Urban Development Minister to appreciate the 100 social houses and the socio-collective equipment associated to the houses constructed within the framework of the Triennial Emergency Plan for the Acceleration of Economic Growth better known by its French acronym as PLANUT, instructed by the Head of State as part of his Programme for the construction of 10 000 low cost social houses and 50 000 constructible parcels. Minister Celestine Ketcha Courtes flanked by Adamawa Governor, her collaborators The words of gratitude were expressed by the Lamido of Ngaoundere who in the presence of Minis-ter Celestine Ketcha Courtes, the Governor of Adamawa region, Imams and notables of the Royal Palace, offered a special prayer for the President of the Republic and his family for peace to reign in Cameroon. Concluding her visit, the Minister told reporters that “I have appreciated the completion of these lodging facilities so dear to the President of the Republic, H.E Paul Biya. I visited a beautiful edifice which is hosting the Adamawa Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and I call on all the occupants to make good use of it as they deliver quality services to users. With the spirit of government solidarity in mind, other administrations may soon be lodged here in this three-storey building of 92 offices.” Touched by the degradation of some urban roads, the Minister took a commitment to accompany the town authorities who are struggling with limited resources to improve upon their urban roads network.
