NDIKINIMEKE TRAGIC ACCIDENT: GOVERNMENT MEMBERS VISIT THE INJURED

Ndikiniméki, not far from the capital, Yaoundé, as a bus derailed from the highway. After visiting the scene, authorities ascertained that some 37 persons were killed and 14 seriously injured. Relatives of those on the bus have been called upon to go confirm the identities of their loved ones.

There is mourning across three towns in Cameroon following a series of ghastly accidents. Many woke up with the news of the death of dozens.

First in In Buea, the capital of the country’s South West region the city of legendary hospitality, a woman and her two kids were crushed to death by a speeding vehicle. The driver who is said to have been drunk at the time of the accident escaped the scene but was later apprehended by the police and is currently under custody. The bodies of the woman and her kids have been deposited at the Buea Regional Hospital mortuary.

Also, moving to Ndikiniméki, not far from the capital, Yaoundé, as a bus derailed from the highway.

After visiting the scene, government officials said that some 37 persons were killed and 14 seriously injured. Relatives of those on the bus have been called upon to go confirm the identities of their loved ones.

Also, Transport Minister Jean Ernest Masséna Ngallè Bibéhè, Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji, Minister Delegate for Transport, Minister Njoya Zakariaou, the Divisional Officer for the Mbam and Inoubou and their other entourage were at the hospital to see the victims.  

The minister, accompanied by Ngalle Behebe, Minister of Transport and his minister delegate said an investigation has been opened toinvestigate the causes of the accident.

These officials say they bring a message of comfort from the Head of State, HIS EXCELLENCY PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA along with his support for their care.
