Arrest over alleged group sex violated UN Convention – Akere Muna

Veteran lawyer, Akere Muna has waded into the ongoing controversy over the arrest of a group of adults in Douala days back.

They were arrested at a home party by officers believed to have been tipped off.

“Two days in a row, private spaces have been raided citizens threatened and filmed naked,” the one time presidential candidate stated.

The raids, Barrister Akere Muna stated, were enacted “… in violation of UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment which Cameroon has ratified”.

“The perpetrators of this torture must face the law,” he urged.

Akere Muna is one of many others to weighed into the controversial arrest coordinated by the forces of law and order.

While some believe the officers were justified in carrying out the arrests on the basis that they were about to have an orgy, others think the reason and even manner of arrest were not justified.

Reports say the group’s release has been secured.
