Anti-Government Protests: Kamto ‘Abandons’ Protesters.

Opposition Leader Maurice Kamto was viably absent today September 22nd 2020 during anti government demonstrations which swept through DOUALA, Bafang and Mbouda.

The MRC Leader had called for a popular uprising to topple the regime and despite government’s measures to prevent it from happening, thousands of protesters took to the streets to defy government’s ban and promise of life inprisonment to show their discontentment.

Notably absent from the streets today was Maurice Kamto, author of the planned protest.

Reports reaching TeboPost say he has been put under house arrest while his Spokesman Bibouck has been arrested and taken to an unknown destination.

During today’s anti- government protest, Albert Nzongang was the only member of Kamto’s inner circle who showed up in Douala to demonstrate and match against the government.

Many now accuse the Opposition Leader of betraying his supporters.

Many say Kamto knew his illegal actions would attract house arrest measures to say the least and his decision to stay at home for government to prevent him from taking to the streets was a political ploy to skip the protest.

His critics say events of today further expose Kamto, warning that he is only using Cameroonians for his selfish political reasons.

The protest today failed to meet the Juliet expectations many Cameroonians had. Hours to the D-day, Kamto went on a twitter rant, reminding those who care to listen that the protest of today isn’t an insurrection and brandishing an international law firm as a legal cushion for potential legal violators.

However, his public disappearance today might have leaked that energy and robbed him of any chances of ever winning the hearts of the people again.
