Scores of prominent Nigerians are at different Polling Station, making sure that their votes count.

Some arrived the polling unit very early in the morning, and posted on social media encouraging their fans to go out and become part of the process to bring change to Nigeria.

Where, Nigeria's general election began this Saturday morning with over 87 million people expected to vote for a new president. Senators and House of Representative members are also being chosen.

The race to succeed Muhammadu Buhari, who has served the maximum two terms as president, is the most open since the military left power in 1999.

Poll are due to open in half an hour at 08:30 local time.

Eighteen candidates are running to replace President Buhari. The frontrunners are Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.

The process has been going on hitch-free so far, though security is tightened in some areas like Adamawa.
